Creating a data table

Fields, icon picker, conditions, form, search – and then the calendar.

No sound, with subtitles German and English subtitles – switch them on and off with “CC” in the player. The video is hosted on this server and only loads when you press play. The steps below are the full text of the video.

Goal

You build your own table (here “courses”) with detail pages, conditional fields, a visitor form and a calendar.

Prerequisites

  • Permission “change tables and fields” and the feature “create tables and fields yourself”.

Step by step

Transcript: every step matches one subtitle in the video.

  1. Data › “+ Neue Tabelle” (new table): your own content such as courses, products or jobs.
  2. Choose an icon: search, e.g. “Schule” (school) – shown in the menu and lists.
  3. Add fields: choose the type below and name it – date, yes/no, link …
  4. Conditions: show “Link zum Raum” only when “Online-Kurs” = yes.
  5. On the right: detail-page address, public form and website search.
  6. “Tabelle anlegen” (create table) – it then appears in the menu on the left, ready to use.
  7. Calendar: in “Felder & Einstellungen” (fields & settings) tick “Als Kalender nutzen” and choose the “Beginn” field.
  8. Now the table has a calendar view, repetitions and an iCal subscription.

Watch out

The short name cannot be changed later (database, API).

Calendar fields can only be chosen after creating the table – new fields are not selectable there before saving.

For confidential details (health data), create an encrypted inbox instead of a content table (type of table).
